Wilfred Albert Nimke was born on April 23, 1922, on a farm west of Ft. Dodge in Webster County, Iowa, the son of William and Anna (Theen) Nimke. He graduated from High School, Johnson Township Consolidated School, Barnum, Iowa, on May 23, 1940. He was united in marriage with Eldora Caroline Hedman at her mother's home in Pomeroy, Iowa. During their married life Bill and Eldora farmed at Clare, Somers and Manson areas and raised their family. After retiring they moved into Manson.
Bill is survived by his children Theodora "Teddy" (David) Drost of Olathe, KS; Marvin (Danette) Nimke of Manson, IA; Gary (Marlene) Nimke of Palmer, IA; and daughter-in-law Sandy Nimke of Manson, IA; 10 grandchidren; and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Eldora; son Martin Nimke; sister Ethel Howrey; brother Marvin Duane Nimke; great grandchildren Grace Marie Nimke and Sydney Mae Nimke.
