Wayne Richard Schoon was born on August 19, 1934 on his mother’s family farm outside of Palmer to Herman and Jeanette (Johnson) Schoon. Wayne grew up in the country outside of Rolfe and was the second of 7 children; Charles, Wayne, Norma, Carolyn, Gary, Kenneth and Ronald.
Wayne was an outdoor kid who loved to ride horses climb trees and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Jeanette and his brothers Gary and Charles, as well as his sons David and Dennis Schoon
Wayne is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth, 5 of his children Darla Rapp, Darold (Cathy) Schoon, Laurie (Kevin) Tague, Richard (Stephanie) Schoon and Victoria (Bryan) Bilek.
Wayne attended country school outside of Rolfe and then continued in the Rolfe schools until his graduation from Rolfe High School in 1952.
Wayne married Mary Johnson in 1954 they had David, Dennis, Darla and Darold.
Wayne moved to Colorado and then California where he met Mary Elizabeth (Ashley) Schoon. They married in 1965 and had Laurie, Richard and Victoria. Wayne raised his family in the LA area. When Wayne retired in 1996 from Thorson’s Buick where he worked for 30 years, he moved back to Iowa with his wife Mary/Liz where he started a small lawn mowing business just to stay busy.
Wayne enjoyed being outside most of the time. He was an avid guitar player, he spent much of his past time with family members playing guitars. Wayne loved country music and politics.
Wayne had 6 siblings 7 children 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Wayne had a great sense of humor, he especially chuckled when one of his kids made a joke. Wayne loved his children and grandchildren, he loved to spend time with family and the only thing he ever wanted for his birthday, Christmas and even Father’s day was for his children and grandchildren to be around
