Nolan Harold Ramthun

Nolan Harold Ramthun, 11, of Manson died Thursday, September 17, 2020 at home with his parents by his side. Nolan was born in Overland Park, KS on April 20, 2009. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 20 4:00-6:00pm at the MAC Center in Manson, IA. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Monday, September 21 at 10:30am. 

On August 18, 2009 Nolan suffered an anoxic brain injury and began his long journey with health complications. Nolan had numerous procedures and hospitalizations over his 11 years but through all these occasions he was a trooper and always battled on with his silly grin.  During this time he took many trips to Rochester where the doctors all learned, “That’s just Nolan” as he liked to do things his own way on his own time. He received care in his home from exceptional nurses that became part of the family through the years; Robin, Carolyn, Mindy, Ginger, and Sharon. Nolan enjoyed his strolls around town, listening to music, and having books read to him.  He adored his brother and sister and he enjoyed pestering them however he could. They both had their own special bond with him. He loved his time with his grandparents; being rocked in the recliner, getting lots of loud kisses and being talked to non-stop. Nolan was an avid MNW Cougar and UNI Panther fan and enjoyed attending live sporting events. He was able to take some amazing trips with his family, including a few trips to the mountains and to Disney World.  Most of all Nolan cherished his time at home with his family and friends.

  
Nolan is survived by his parents Adam and Sarah Ramthun, his brother Landon and his sister Mabel, Manson, IA. His grandparents Brad and Mary Jo Kruse, Manson; Marjean Lantz-Ramthun and Dale Seehusen, Twin Lakes; Dennis and Linda Ramthun, Manson. His aunts and uncles
Adam (June) Kruse, Tucson, AZ; Jon (Emily) Kruse, Nevada, IA; Morgan (Matt) Johnson, Northwood, IA; Houston Ramthun, Manson; Hunter Ramthun, Callender, IA. His cousins Alex, Braxton, Brynn, Caleb, Aubrey, Sadie, and Harper.  His great-grandma Ruth Lantz, Pomeroy,
IA and his great-grandpa Ron Ramthun, Manson. He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents Arnold and Audrey Kruse; Edgar and Mabel Ronning, Harold Lantz, and Charlene Ramthun.
