Martin Elmer Janssen

     Martin Janssen was born to Gerd and Martha (Ihnen) Janssen on July 3, 1939. He graduated from Gilmore City High School in 1957.    On September 17, 1960, he married Mary Margaret Darby and together they raised two children, Tammy and David.
     Martin farmed in the Gilmore City area his entire life. He enjoyed driving horses including his draft horses and most recently his Welsh ponies. Martin was an active member at his church at St John’s  Lutheran Church, rural Palmer.

     Martin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary; his daughter, Tammy; son, David; his grandchildren, Kelsey Janssen, Cortney Janssen, Kesha Wadle, Amanda Crouse, and Shelby (Austin) Bedford; four great grandchildren, Jade Wadle, Tiffany Wadle, Madison Nickles, Weston Nickles; his sibling, Wilbert Janssen; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Carol Darby; as well as many nieces and nephews.
