Lois Della Thielmann, 90, of Manson, passed away August 15, 2022, at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, August 20, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manson. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge.
Mrs. Thielmann is survived by her children, Lee (Jan) Thielmann of Ankeny, Max (Robert) Dodds of Manson, Larry (Janice) Thielmann of Parker, CO; She is also survived by Shelley (Mike) Sanders, who is like a daughter, of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Rita (Stacy) Bergren of Barnum, Kelli (Travis) Girard of Manson, Amy (Tony) Nelson of Grimes, TJ Thielmann of Ankeny, Andy (Andrea) Dodds of Denver, CO, Sean (Brendaya) Thielmann Yokota AFB Japan, and Ashlee Thielmann (Quintin Dumas) Denver, CO; great grandchildren, Kea Rae (Connor) Dencklau, Ft. Dodge, Bryce Bergren, Barnum, IA, Derek Girard, Ames ,IA, Devin Girard, Denver, Co Nick Girard, Des Moines, IA, Jake Girard, Pomeroy, IA, Hazey Slawson, Pomeroy, IA,, Dior Dumas Denver CO, and Dominic Dodds, Denver, CO; great-great grandchildren, Kambriah Bergren, Kariyauna Bergren, Kylan Dencklau and Camryn Dencklau all of Fort Dodge. She was survived by sisters-in-law, Marian Block Ellsworth IA, and Nancy (Thielmann) Cooper Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Grace Buffinton; brothers, Glen, Dale, Lowell, and Lloyd Buffinton; and sisters, Alveda (Korf) Wendland, Violet Schoettmer, Velma Jacob, Darlene Oberhelman, and Pauline Koester.
Lois Della Buffinton, the daughter of Paul and Grace (Crouse) Buffinton, was born December 30, 1931, on a farm in Dover Township in Pocahontas County, Iowa and received her education at Pocahontas. She was united in marriage to Harold Thielmann on June 6, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Palmer. The couple made their home on a farm where Lois worked side-by-side with Harold on the farm and raised her children. She was later employed by Northwest Bodies and Feed Fortifiers for many years. The couple enjoyed traveling the U.S. and visited Mexico, Canada, and Germany. They also enjoyed the 17 years they spent as snowbirds in Texas. Harold passed away on February 17, 2018, she spent two years between the children. Then moved to Friendship Haven. She passed away peacefully at Friendship Haven on Monday evening of August 15, 2022, at the age of 90.
