Lois Leadley, 87 passed away at the Good Samaritan Society in Manson on June 2nd. Lois was born April 25th, 1936, to Ed and Elsie Jones. After graduating from Manson High School in 1954, she then married her husband of 52 years, Archie. Lois worked at Globe Union for 7 years and later became the head cook at Manson Elementary School for 27 years. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, VFW and many social clubs. She and Archie liked to go dancing and loved to go camping. Lois enjoyed shopping and spending time with friends and family. She played cards with friends and card clubs, went to Tuesday morning coffee with the ladies and liked to cook.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband Archie; sons, Steven and Mike; brother Kenneth Jones. She is survived by her sister Ilene McVey of Osceola, IA; her sons, Alan of Clarion and Dennis (Tammy) of Des Moines; grandchildren-Heather (Jeremy) Hanson, Josh Ragan, Kristen Ragan (DJ), David (Mellissa) Leadley, Matthew (Bethany) Leadley; great-grandchildren-Alesha (Kyle) Dean, Koby (Lacey) Hanson, Alexis Hanson, Teagan Ragan, Hudson, Maverick, Breea and great-great grandson Myles “MJ” Hanson.
Lois will be greatly missed but as she has said “I know where I’m going, I’ve lived a great life and I’ll see you all on the other side.”
We all know that she is now able to visit Steve and Mike, dance the night away with Archie, drink a fishbowl with Marlene, play cards and visit with Marcella and have a great time with countless other family and friends who have passed.
