Lois A. (Holtapp) Keleher

Lois Ann Holtapp, the daughter of William and Martha (Jensen) Holtapp, was born January 9, 1929, on her parents' farm near Pomeroy, Iowa. After graduating from Pomeroy High School, she began working at the bank in Pomeroy. She was united in marriage to Keith Keleher on August 13, 1951, at Pomeroy. Lois became a homemaker, raising her children until returning to work at the Palmer State Bank in 1975. After her retirement from the bank, Lois helped her husband, Keith, with the farming operations and hauled grain to the Palmer Elevator until the age of 84. Keith passed away in November of 2018 and Lois continued to maintain her home until becoming a resident of the Pocahontas Care Center in June of 2021. She passed away there on the afternoon of February 7, 2023, at the age of 94.

Mrs. Keleher was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Manson. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Mike) Meier of Dakota City, Mark (Janet) Keleher of Overland Park, KS, Deb (Phil) Lenz of Palmer, John Keleher of Hickory Creek, TX, and Julie Keleher of Hickory Creek, TX; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorna Kleen; sister-in-law, Shirley Harrold; and brothers-in-law, Paul Benson and Dean Ashbrook. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Keith Keleher.
