Karen Shirley (Harridge) Vosberg of Manson, IA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 6th, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Center in Manson. Karen was born on February 28, 1938 to William and Clarice Harridge at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines. She graduated from Mallard High School in 1956 where she was active in the fine arts.
Karen married Elmer "Louie" Vosberg on December 21, 1962 and they made their home in the Manson area. She dedicated her life to raising their four children and helping on the family farm. Karen was an active member of the Fort Dodge Red Hat Ladies, VFW, Amvets and the Manson St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Karen is survived by her daughter DeeAnn (Scott) Otto, Fort Dodge, son Kevin (Patty) Vosberg, Manson, daughter Brenda (Bob) Keck, Adel and daughter Mishelle (Steve) Gerdes, Pomeroy. She was very proud of her 15 grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and attending their activities. They are: Jodie Warywoda, Shelby Greenlaw, Alana Otto, Kylee Cummings, Megan Goodall, Hannah Howell, Brock Vosberg, Colton Vosberg, Kynsie Dodge, Kendall Keck, Anna and Abby Blomgren, Eric, Luke and Natalie Gerdes. Karen was blessed with 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Larry (Shirley) Vosberg, Fort Dodge, and many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband Elmer "Louie" Vosberg, her parents William Harridge and Clarice (Smith) Williams, her brothers Bob Harridge and Gary Roberts and sister Audrey Warland.
Karen had a big heart and loved to give more than she received. She always had a bright smile and friendly conversation for everyone. She enjoyed social gatherings with family and friends and made an impact on many lives. She will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
