Janice May Larsen was born at Albert City, Iowa, on May 25, 1937, the daughter of Harry and Ella (Degner) Larsen. She attended Varina Elementary School and graduated from Albert City High School. She was united in marriage with Delbert E. Johnson at Newell, Iowa, on October 27, 1962. Janice was employed by the Fort Dodge Messenger for 16 years as one of their delivery people, and later worked at the Manson Good Samaritan Center for 12 years in the laundry and housekeeping departments. She most clearly identified herself as a homemaker and mother to their four children.
Those left to cherish Janice's memory include her children Marlys Johnson of Humboldt, IA; Vickie Johnson of Emmetsburg, IA; Mark and Jay Johnson both of Manson, IA; her grandson Curtis; sisters Bonnie Meyer of Mankato, MN; Sandra Rix of Newell, IA; Karen Taylor of Des Moines, IA; sister-in-law Joyce Hade of Gowrie, IA; and her furry friend Lucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Delbert; and her furry friend Bud.
