Faye Ann (Freese) Smart

Faye Ann Smart (Freese), age 66, was found to have peacefully passed in her home on November 6th, 2020.

She was born on August 16, 1954 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She attended Manson High School and subsequently joined the Army where she met her husband James G. Smart. When her husband left the Army, she requested a discharge so she could start a family. Her first daughter, Jamie Lee, was born in Abilene, Texas in 1985. Her second daughter, Whitney Jo, was born in Rowlett, Texas in 1988. Faye was a stay at home mom for many years. Her husband’s job moved them around to many cities, but they settled in Norcross, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. She spent the years of 1989-2004 in Georgia raising her children. Her hobbies included cooking, taking pictures, playing tambourine, and listening to oldies by the pool. She moved back to Iowa to be close to family where she would spend her remaining years.

She is survived by her daughters Jamie Wilson and Whitney Smart, and her two grandchildren Reagan Wilson and Collin Graham; her parents Eldon and Ruth Freese; her siblings Doug (Mickey) Freese, Sandy (Jim) Jones, Peggy Freese and Jeremy Becky McDonald) Freese; three nieces; two nephews; one great-nephew; five great nieces; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Shannon.
