Douglas Lee Seavert, 62 of Manson passed away peacefully at his home April 28th surrounded by his girls after a 4½ year battle with cancer.
Doug was born to James A and DonnaBelle (Stark) Seavert on April 16, 1958 in Spencer, IA. He married Nancy Langenwalter on November 28, 1985 in Manson, IA. Following their marriage, they lived in Spencer, IA, Reeds Spring, MO, Rossie, IA, and finally settled in Manson. Doug had a huge love for farming and held various farming and livestock operation jobs, owning a pig operation and hauling pigs for Miller Trucking until cancer treatments prevented him from working in 2017.
Doug had a huge heart and an immense love for family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Doug’s family includes his wife, Nancy of Manson, daughters Kari (Tom) Ellis of Rockwell City and Allie (Michael) McFarlane of Urbana, IA, son James Seavert of Carroll, and grandchildren Evan, Hope, and Tommy. Doug is also survived by his Mother, DonnaBelle Seavert of Royal, IA, brothers Dale (Patricia) Seavert of Becker, MN, Danny (Claudia) Seavert of Royal, IA, sister, Darlene (Steve) Zinnel of Swea City, IA, several nieces and nephews, and many others who loved him dearly, including his very dedicated Mother-in-law, Norma Langenwalter of Manson. He is preceded in death by father James Seavert and granddaughter Faith Jean Ellis.
Services will be held at a later date this year.
