Don farmed in the Manson area for his entire life alongside his father and then with his son, Jeff. He loved to travel and in earlier years spent summer vacations traveling and camping with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and shooting targets (after which, he sometimes spent time patching siding on buildings…..) His caring and fun loving disposition impacted many who crossed paths with him during his lifetime . He loved spending time with his family and was active in his church and faith. He and his wife led the Mennonite Youth Fellowship group and maintained friendships with many of them throughout the years, He also did voluntary mission work through Mennonite Disaster Service after Hurricane Katrina. After surviving a stroke in 2014, he began an 8 year journey that sometimes tested his patience, but not his faith. Don left this life behind on Saturday, October 22nd, surrounded by his family. He was only 83 years old and will be sorely missed by us all.

In lieu of flowers, Don's family prefers memorial donations to Beacon of Hope.
