David LeRoy Nissen

David was born in Ft. Dodge, IA, on April 2, 1951,the son of Bentley and Marliss (Peters) Nissen, and graduated from Manson High School in 1970. He helped in the building of the new high school in Manson for a brief time, then began working for GTE in Forest City. He returned to the Manson area and married Laurie Uballe  on Nov. 16, 1974, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manson. He continued to work for GTE in Rockwell City as an installer and repairman, and stayed with the company as it transitioned to Iowa Telecom and later Windstream, retiring on May 24, 2013.

David is survived by his wife Laurie; daughter Traci (Tim) Lundberg of Ft. Dodge, IA; grandchildren Chloe, Jacob, and Carlyn; mother Marliss; brothers Ron (Lettie) Nissen of Ft. Dodge, IA and Ric (Elizabeth) Nissen of Manson, IA. He was preceded in death by his son Brett; his father Bentley; and his sister Cheryl Reed.
