Cathy Ann Alig was born on August 5, 1948, at Laurens, IA, the daughter of Maurice and Eileen (Hartman) Alig. After graduating from Palmer High School in 1966, she attended Commercial Extension Business School in Omaha, NE, briefly, and then she was employed at Fort Dodge Laboratories for a short time. She was united in marriage with David Lenz on July 6, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmer. Through Dave's job, they lived in several places in the Midwest. Their first home was in Ames, IA, where their first son Michael David was born, and Cathy worked at the Iowa State Highway Department. They next moved to Milwaukee, WI, for a short time, and then to Marquette, MI, where their second son Kevin John was born. After living in several other locations, they settled in Medina, OH, where they have been living for many years. Even though Cathy had several health factors to deal with, she enjoyed activities at the senior center when she was able to participate, as well as boating, fishing, playing cards and athletic events.
Among her survivors are her husband, David; sons Michael (Terri) Lenz of McFarland, WI; Kevin (Bernice) Lenz of League City, TX; grandsons Mason, Austin, and Dylan Lenz; her mother Eileen Alig of Palmer, IA; siblings Marvin Alig of Palmer, IA; Betty Sweet of Manson, IA; Kenneth (Elizabeth) Alig of Missouri Valley, IA; Steven (Lex) Alig of Brooklyn, IA; David Alig of Dakota City, IA; Sandra (Bruce) Dittmer of Nevada, IA.
