Barbara D (Collmann) Smith

Barbara D. Smith, 66, of Manson passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manson with interment following at St. Paul Luteran Cemetery. Barbara was born in Fort Dodge on October 8, 1956, to Rolland and Norma (Reil) Collmann. She grew up in Manson attending school and graduated from Manson High School. She was united in marriage to Steven Smith on November 26, 1977, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. She then attended La James Beauty School. She went on to own and operate His & Hers Salon in Manson for over 30 years until her retirement in 2014. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and sang with the Manson Meridians. She enjoyed going to Arizona, gardening and she served on the landscape committee for their association. She really loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also loved dogs and all animals. She was also known to always be cleaning and organizing wherever she went.

Barbara is survived by her husband Steve; her son Justin (Kimberly) Smith of Jordan, MN; grandchildren Jackson, Aiden, Mason and Jaylie; her grand-dogs K.C. and Jersey; her sister Beth (Jim) Hudson of Pocahontas, IA; sister-in-law Mary Collmann of Des Moines, IA; nieces and nephews Sarah (Jared), Brian (Macy), Andy (Katie) and Aaron (Mariah); her aunt and uncle Larry and Fran Collmann and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Rolland and Norma and her brother Bruce Collmann.
