Theodora Jean (Matt) Schuman

Theodora Jean Schuman age 90 passed away on October 16, 2018 in her home in Roseville, MN. Jean was born September 16, 1928 in Manona, IA to Theodore & Etta (Gossman) Matt. Jean was married to Richard (Dick) Schuman on December 17, 1949. Living most of their married life in Decatur Il. Jean had three major occupations: Starting as a home economist with the IL Power Co, then as a home economics teacher at both Eisenhower High School and Woodrow Wilson Jr High. Then at age 50 she started the Plantation Pine store with 2 partners. Jean was active in St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bible Study Fellowship, Habitat for Humanity, and was a master gardener. Jean created a wonderful home for the family, including beautiful gardens. Jean loved spending time with the family and took every opportunity to travel to see them. Jean was preceded in death by her parents Theodore & Etta Matt, husband of 63 years Richard Schuman, sisters Lillian Theise and Florence Matt, brother Jason Matt, daughter Lynne Schuman. Jean is survived by five children Cheryl (Ross) Hilman, Diane (Steve) Meyer, Randy (Angela) Schuman, Beth Schuman, Bill Schuman. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Brother in law Bill Moline and many nephews and nieces. Memorial Service will be held at Nativity Lutheran Church in St. Anthony, MN on Oct 27, 2018 at 11, visitation one hour prior.
