Steven Michael Jones was born on July 24,1956, in Fairbanks, Alaska to Gary and the late Maureen (Mallory) Jones. He attended High School in Cherokee, Iowa, where he met the love of his life and high school sweetheart Barbara Jo (Pickens) Jones. Steve and Barb were united in marriage on January 13, 1975. They made their home in Cherokee, Tea, Sioux Falls, Omaha, Twin Lakes and most recently, Manson, Iowa. Steve started his career with Hy-Vee, where he eventually managed his own store in Omaha. Steve and Barb owned various businesses in their married lifetime; Twin Lakes Grocery and Grill, JOTS Cafe, Eagle Lanes and Big Beve’s Bar and Grill. Steve’s favorite hobbies included fishing with his dad and boys, golfing, bowling, watching his beloved Packers, Hawkeyes, Titans and most recently Northwestern Red Raiders. He enjoyed teasing his wife daily and nicknaming everyone he met. Some favorite nicknames would be BL, Triple B, PD Buddy, Gran, Kirb-less, Pearl, Gar-bo, Tojo, Doggie, Merk, Kage, Mop, Wild Bill, Leesa, Crazy Christy, Snookie, Tylo, Mads and the list goes on and on. He loved Saturday morning coffee with Miguel and Robert (Bob for short). He loved every play date (even in the closet) with Lincoln and Cienna.
Steve was survived by sons Steven Matthew (Kari) Jones, Jason Michael (Jordan) Jones, and Aaron Lee Jones. Steve loved his 6 grandchildren Victoria Lynn, Tyler Matthew, Madison Marie, Cienna JoLee, Lincoln Earl and Ryleigh Candace. He is also survived by father Gary (Judy) Jones of Sutherland, Iowa; Gary Lee Jones, Cave Creek, AZ; Tammy (Kirby) Livingston, Lakeland, MN; DeeAnn Sommers, Lakeland, MN; Bret (Shari) Ford, Cedar Falls, IA; Josie Kane (Jim), Lemon Grove, CA; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Steve is preceded in death by his wife, Barb and mother, Maureen.
