Nancy Ann Suhrbier was born on October 19, 1946, at Fort Dodge, IA, the daughter of George and Viola (Schroeder) Suhrbier. After graduating from Palmer High School, she worked for the next several years at a law firm in Pocahontas. She was united in marriage with Allan Nelson on October 17, 1965, at St. John Lutheran Church, Lizard Township. She then devoted the next part of her life to making a home for their family. She later worked as a nurse aid at the Pocahontas Community Hospital for several years. Nancy became a cook in the Pocahontas School system for over 20 years before retiring due to her failing health.
Nancy is survived by her husband Allan; their children Cindy (Dan) DeWall of Manson, IA; Chris (Peggy) Nelson of Ft. Dodge, IA; Stacy (Chad) Beschorner of Pocahontas, IA; Stephanie (Ryan) Heiar of North Liberty, IA; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; sisters Janice (Leroy) Dornath of Pocahontas, IA; Joann (Roger) Eichelberger of Palmer, IA; Lori Hall of Ankeny, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
