Larry Dean Francis

Larry Dean Francis was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on December 1, 1939, the son of Earl and Etta (Krie) Francis. He graduated from Palmer High School, and on September 4, 1960, he was united in marriage with Ramona Johnson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manson. Larry joined the U. S. Army reserves, and after completing his basic training, returned home to farm with his Father. He continued farming in the Palmer, Pocahontas, and Pomeroy area until he was forced to retire in 2000 due to his health. 

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and loved animals. He did NOT like wearing shorts!

Larry is survived by his wife Sheila; his sons Darren Francis of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Dale (Teresa) Francis of New Prague, MN; grandchildren Danielle, Mercedes, Faith, Noelle, Noah, Sarah, Jeremiah, and Elijah; sisters Linda (Wayne Porath of Columbia, MO; Lois (John) Larson of Stratford, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ramona in 1998; his son Dana in 2006; and his granddaughter Hope in 2003.
