Jerry Birkey was one of a kind. He was kind, generous, witty, and hilarious, and his hearty laugh was absolutely infectious. He had a big heart and loved unconditionally, always being there for his family and friends and moving mountains for them if that's what was needed. He was born on February 5, 1952 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He lived a full life. He was a proud American who served his country in the Air Force, stationed in Thailand, Omaha, Nebraska, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Wiesbaden, Germany, and in Grand Rapids, South Dakota. He loved to golf and to travel with family and good friends. He was a wonderful dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all who were lucky enough to know him. And, he knew how to throw one hell of a party. Jerry passed away on November 12, 2018. He is survived by his daughter, Traci, his son-in-law, Larry, his grandchildren, Lily and Tanner, his brothers, Don and Marv, his sisters-in-law, Katie and Linda, and his many nieces and nephews and dear friends. He will be loved and missed forever. Giant celebration of life TBA.
