Edna Martha Hartman Steinberg was born Sept. 27, 1927, to Dietrich and Hilke (Janssen) Hartman in Pocahontas County, Palmer, Iowa. She was brought to the Lord in Baptism at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer on Oct. 16, 1927, and was confirmed there on Mar. 29, 1942.
Edna attended grade school at Belville #5 and graduated from Palmer High School. On July 5, 1947, she married Joe Steinberg at Rockwell City, IA. To them two children were born--Dean Steinberg and Paul Steinberg Hurt.
Edna was a homemaker until her husband's death on July 15, 1963. After that she worked many different places, always trying to improve her duties in the working field. She retired from C.R.L. at Ft. Dodge on April 1, 1991.
Edna enjoyed being with family and friends. She enjoyed helping those that needed her help. She really enjoyed outdoors life, and playing cards and doing church work.\
She is survived by her son Dean (Pam) Steinberg of Manson, IA; son-in-law Mark Hurt of Rosemount, MN; stepson Bob (Barb) Steinberg of Monett, MO; great grandson Dustin Steinberg; sister Helen Ingebretson of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe; daughter Paula Hurt; grandson Brad Steinberg; stepdaughter Josephine Essing; sisters Gladyce Hartman, Gretina Steinberg, Mardella Carpenter and Lorna Guerin.
